Find statistical information on your target local authority or other local area using NOMIS an example for the region is provided below. Information on the number of businesses by sector and area are produced by the Office for National Statistics website and the Centre for Cities provides a range of statistics on population, business start-ups, skills, employment and earnings, CO2 emissions, housing and wellbeing.

Driven by sector specific business groups, established to identify ways in which the economic impact can be maximised through driving growth, training and employment opportunities for local people, these plans aim to support the D2N2’s objective to create 55,000 new private sector jobs by 2023. D2N2 LEP Sector Action Development Plans

D2N2 Board has drawn all the views of partners and recommendations from the Sector Action Plans, commissioned for the eight key sectors and the Innovation strand, and to support the preparation of an EU Implementation Plan to set out the activities that they are looking to commission through the EU Programme. Each plan provides detail on regional trends across a range of topics such as skills, employment, growth areas and innovation.

Research and Useful Documents

  • Skills Mismatch Report - July 2017. The Skills Mismatch Report for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire provides a number of insights into the composition and dynamics of the area’s labour markets particular skills demand, skills shortage, undersupply and oversupply of provision. The report identifies a number of ways technical education provision in D2N2 could be re-balanced to better capitalise on these opportunities. While in many ways course provision reflects the needs of local employers, there is also potential significant under and oversupply of certain courses.
